INFINI (Aerial Ethereal #2) by Krista and Becca Ritchie REVIEW

3.5/5 Stars

It is hard to say how I feel about this book. At first, I gave it 5 stars like almost every book I give the Ritchie sister's but I honestly think it wasn't the correct rating for this book. Like usual the writing was superb but I don't think the book was as good as it was hyped up to be. I have been looking forward to this book since its announcement and now that I have had a chance to read it, I feel disappointed.

First, lets talk about Luka and Baylee. I loved Luka. I loved Baylee. But I didn't love them together. I didn't feel the connection that every other review said they did. I think because I didn't get to see their relationship from where it started 6 years ago, I didn't feel the instant connection that they claimed to have after seeing each other again. I also don't think that they are the same people they were 6 years ago and saying that they are is a lie. People change. I think both Baylee and Luka did. I find it difficult to see the love they have for one another. I don't think picking up where they left off was the right choice for this couple. I think that they needed time to get to know each other again. I know that every conversation they had together was not written in the book but I think we needed more conversations between them in order to really see that they're meant to be together. I also think that there should have been more moments between them after the conflict was over in the book. The conflict wasn't resolved until like 80% into the book and then it was basically over. I just feel like they would make a beautiful couple but I didn't feel that it was established well in this book and it breaks my heart to say it.

Second, the conflict. I hated the contract that they signed. It was bogus. Nobody would be able to write a contract like that and get away with it. Maybe some parts of the contract were okay but other parts were ridiculous. I also found the resolution to that conflict way to easy and rushed. Also, there were so many mini conflicts that were never resolved or were again way to easy to get resolved. I'm not saying I want this book to be one drawn out conflict but I do think it is more realistic dealing with these kinds of conflicts when they're not easily solvable.

Finally, side characters. I loved all of them. I love all of the Katova's. I love John. I love Camila. I love all of them! But I shouldn't love them more than the main couple. I think that this was Luka and Baylee's book to shine and they didn't. I was more interested in seeing what Timo or Thora were up to. I was more interested in seeing Luka's interactions with his family than with Baylee. I can love the background characters but I think it is important for a happy medium and this book missed it.

I wish I had enjoyed the book to the extent that I believed I would but I didn't. It breaks my heart to say it. I just think that I love "Amour Amour" more than I love "Infini" and I think I am okay with that. I do not regret reading this book and I'll probably read it again. But I cannot give it 5 stars. I think I will give it a 3.5 or 4 because I really do think that the Ritchie sisters know how to write a story and beautiful characters. I wish I could put into words the feelings I have for this book but I cannot not articulate all of them. I wish I could write down everything in my head but it isn't possible. I recommend this book to people who love "Amour Amour" and the Ritchie sister's writing and I hope you enjoy it more than I did.
